MailAction
Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-08-22
1. The service
MailAction turns paper documents — mail, bills, gift cards, vouchers, receipts, warranties, and similar paperwork — into extracted actions, deadlines, and reminders. You can add documents by taking a photo, uploading a scan, or forwarding email to your personal intake address, and MailAction will read them, pull out the important details, and remind you before deadlines. MailAction organizes information; it does not provide legal, financial, or medical advice. Extraction is performed by AI and can make mistakes, so always check the original document before acting on anything important.
2. Your account
To use MailAction you need an account with accurate information, including a working email address, since that is where your reminders go. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use MailAction. If you believe someone else has accessed your account, change your password and contact us right away.
3. Acceptable use
Use MailAction only for lawful purposes and only with documents you have the right to store and process. Do not upload unlawful content, attempt to break or overload the service, or use it to harm others. In particular, do not upload protected health information: MailAction is not a HIPAA-covered service and must not be used to store or process patient data. If your household shares an account space, only share documents the other member is allowed to see.
4. Free tier and subscriptions
The free tier includes 15 AI extractions per month. Your archive, search, reminders, and export are always free, regardless of plan — running out of AI extractions never locks you out of documents you have already added. Premium costs $3.99 per month or $29.99 per year and auto-renews at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in Settings → Plan → Manage subscription; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and you keep Premium features until then. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice before any price change takes effect. Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details never touch our servers.
5. Your content
You own your documents and everything extracted from them. By using MailAction you grant us only the limited rights needed to run the service: storing your files, sending them to our AI providers for extraction, showing them to you and to household members you invite, and sending you reminders about them. We claim no other rights to your content, and we do not use it for anything beyond providing MailAction to you.
6. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion permanently removes your documents, uploaded files, and account data — there is no recovery, so export anything you want to keep first. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or create risk for other users, and where reasonable we will tell you why.
7. Disclaimers and liability
MailAction is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. AI extraction can be wrong or incomplete, reminders can fail to arrive, and the service may occasionally be unavailable — do not rely on MailAction as your only safeguard against missing a deadline. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will give you notice in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use MailAction after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms; this also applies if you signed up before these terms were first published. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the service and delete your account.
9. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the laws of the operator’s state of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. MailAction is operated by an individual sole proprietor in the United States. Questions about these terms? Email hello@mailaction.app.
